Mammoths Ellie and Manny are having a baby, which makes sloth Sid feel broody. Stealing three dinosaur eggs and hatching the chicks is not his brightest idea. Acceptable family fare, although the interludes with the acorn-chasing squirrel are beginning to wear out their welcome.  

This third trip to the Ice Age cooler is a Jurassic Lark. It should delight families with its amusing new dino buddies, even as it risks terrifying tots with its marauding Tyrannosaurus rex. Family values turn to tribal trauma after woolly mammoths Manny (Ray Romano) and Ellie (Queen Latifah) announce to their prehistoric pack that they're expecting a bouncing bundle of fur. Sabre-toothed tiger Diego (Denis Leary) takes this as his cue to go solo, while nutso sloth Sid (John Leguizamo) has the opposit  

The third installment of Fox's startlingly successful Ice Age series suggests that this coldly calculated animated franchise may have finally run out of steam. Perhaps even the studio has realized this, since the new film moves away from the earlier ones' drab frozen tundra setting and replaces their geniality with too much spectacle and slapstick. A continuation of THE MELTDOWN, life begins to change for the ICE AGE creatures. Mammoths Manny (Ray Romano) and Ellie (Queen Latifah) are having baby pains but eventually land with a super cutesy (Ugh!) baby.
